What will you do?

  • Support the Test Lead in the design, sizing, integration, and execution of validation tests for BESS and Grid-Following/Grid-Forming (GFL/GFM) systems.
  • Assist in developing and executing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing protocols to validate product performance under real-world and extreme operating conditions.
  • Participate in product development, technical validation, and risk mitigation activities within the R&D laboratory.
  • Support electrical system sizing, component selection, single-line diagrams, technical calculations, and bills of materials.
  • Execute functional, performance, and compliance testing while documenting results and preparing detailed technical reports.
  • Analyze laboratory data to identify system improvements and provide feedback to engineering, product, and supplier teams.
  • Assist with commissioning documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge transfer to field engineering teams.
  • Ensure testing activities comply with applicable safety standards, technical regulations, and laboratory procedures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and occasionally support technology transition activities at project sites.

What are they looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Renewable Energy, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in BESS, power electronics, electrical systems, testing, integration, commissioning, or related engineering environments (internships and co-op experience are considered).
  • Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power electronics, Grid-Following/Grid-Forming (GFL/GFM) technologies, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience performing system sizing, component selection, interpreting electrical single-line diagrams, and preparing technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, generators, and load banks.
  • Basic knowledge of HIL testing environments, SCADA systems, Modbus/TCP, AutoCAD, Excel, and engineering simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, HOMER, PVSyst are a plus).
  • Understanding of electrical codes and standards such as NOM, NEC, and preferably IEC.
  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting abilities, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (minimum B2/C1) with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and international teams.
  • Preferred certifications include NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), First Aid, and Fire Safety.
