Who are they?

  • A renewable energy company focused on the development, ownership, and operation of clean energy projects across North America.
  • Their portfolio includes utility-scale and distributed generation projects across solar, wind, hydro, and battery energy storage (BESS) technologies.
  • They combine technical expertise, asset management, and project development capabilities to support renewable energy projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • They operate in a highly technical and performance-driven environment, focused on engineering quality, operational efficiency, and long-term asset performance.

What will you do?

  • Lead the detailed technical review and approval of photovoltaic engineering packages developed by EPC contractors, with a strong focus on electrical design and multidisciplinary interfaces.
  • Identify design inconsistencies, calculation errors, technical risks, and non-compliance with applicable standards, particularly NOM-001-SEDE.
  • Manage engineering comments directly with EPC contractors, follow up on revisions, and drive technical issues through closure and final approval.
  • Remain technically involved throughout project execution, reviewing design changes, technical queries, construction deviations, as-built documentation, and testing and commissioning results.
  • Perform independent assessments of energy yield, system performance, and key design assumptions using PVsyst and/or HelioScope.
  • Monitor the performance of operating renewable assets, analyzing generation, availability, Performance Ratio (PR), actual vs. budget/forecast, and other key performance indicators.
  • Identify performance deviations, energy losses, anomalies, and degradation trends, developing technical reports and recommendations to improve asset efficiency.
  • Collaborate with EPC contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure engineering quality and compliance with established technical criteria and procedures.
  • Support the technical evaluation of projects and operating assets while managing multiple engineering review processes simultaneously.

What are they looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; 10 years preferred, including hands-on electrical engineering and design experience in C&I and/or utility-scale photovoltaic projects.
  • Strong practical experience reviewing and developing photovoltaic electrical engineering; residential-only solar experience will not be considered sufficient.
  • Solid knowledge and practical application of NOM-001-SEDE in photovoltaic system design and technical review.
  • Experience with low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, interconnection processes, and CFE requirements is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NEC and IEC standards is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with PVsyst or HelioScope is required; experience with both is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities for engineering and asset performance evaluation.
  • BESS knowledge or experience is highly desirable; cogeneration experience will be considered a plus.
  • Professional English proficiency for technical documentation and meetings; fluent written and spoken English is preferred.
  • Strong attention to technical detail, independent judgment, and the ability to manage multiple engineering reviews simultaneously.
  • Clear technical communication skills and the ability to substantiate engineering conclusions when working directly with EPC contractors.
  • Availability for occasional travel within Mexico.

Why them?

  • Join a renewable energy company with exposure to a diversified portfolio of solar, wind, hydro, and energy storage projects across North America.
  • Take on a highly technical role combining engineering management with operating asset performance, providing visibility across both project execution and long-term operations.
  • Apply your photovoltaic design expertise beyond design itself, influencing engineering quality, EPC performance, technical risk management, and asset efficiency.
  • Gain exposure to C&I and utility-scale renewable energy projects while collaborating with specialized teams and EPC partners.
  • Continue developing your expertise in renewable energy technologies, including opportunities for exposure to BESS and other emerging energy solutions.
