It was news that shook me.<\/p>\n<p>And this week it stirred something in me again when I read a report about how organized crime is using social media, TikTok and video games to recruit young people.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"QPSBGRTTCToxrpUoVsOUnfwcbljCvWXALY\" tabindex=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/search\/results\/all\/?keywords=%23reclutamiento&amp;origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED\" data-test-app-aware-link=\"\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\">#<\/span>Recruitment<\/a>.<br \/>\nThat&#039;s the word I use every day... but in a completely different context.<\/p>\n<p>And seeing how they take advantage of the hopes of someone who is just looking for a job, a dream, an opportunity... it hurts.<\/p>\n<p>It hurts because we all live in Mexico and know this reality.<br \/>\nIt hurts because those of us who work in <a class=\"QPSBGRTTCToxrpUoVsOUnfwcbljCvWXALY\" tabindex=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/search\/results\/all\/?keywords=%23reclutamiento&amp;origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED\" data-test-app-aware-link=\"\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\">#<\/span>recruitment<\/a> Yes, we believe in the positive impact a good job can have. \u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83e\ude79<\/p>\n<p>And it hurts because these kinds of cases also affect trust in our industry. This post isn&#039;t pleasant. But it&#039;s necessary.<\/p>\n<p>If you know someone young, someone who is looking for a job, someone who is vulnerable or excited by an &quot;too good to be true&quot; opportunity, please share this.<\/p>\n<p>Here are 4 warning signs that everyone should know:<\/p>\n<p>1\ufe0f\u20e3 Always research the company<br \/>\nGoogle his name.<br \/>\nSearch for news.<br \/>\nCheck if it appears on LinkedIn, on its official website, or in directories.<br \/>\nIf you don&#039;t find anything, be alert.<\/p>\n<p>2\ufe0f\u20e3 Be wary of unrealistic salaries.<br \/>\nIf a job opening promises salaries 50\u201380% higher than the average, question it.<br \/>\nYou can check ranges using Glassdoor, OCC, or even ask ChatGPT for an analysis of the typical salary for that role in your city.<\/p>\n<p>3\ufe0f\u20e3 If it involves travel, let someone else know.<br \/>\nShare your location.<br \/>\nShare the exact location where you will be.<br \/>\nDon&#039;t go without someone else keeping track of your movements.<\/p>\n<p>4\ufe0f\u20e3 Ask questions, lots of questions<br \/>\nA legitimate job can be verified by phone call or video call.<br \/>\nAsk what you would do, who you would work with, where the office is, and who your boss is.<br \/>\nA real recruiter isn&#039;t bothered by you asking questions.<br \/>\nA fake recruiter, yes.<\/p>\n<p>This topic is doubly important to me because, in addition to being a recruiter, I worked for almost 4 years in security, providing Security Awareness training.<br \/>\nAnd I know, from experience, that prevention saves lives.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#039;t close my eyes.<br \/>\nI don&#039;t want anyone else to close them either.<\/p>\n<p>If sharing this information can prevent even one person from falling for a fake job offer, a dangerous network, or a story that should never have existed\u2026 then it&#039;s worth writing this post, even if it&#039;s not happy, even if it&#039;s not lighthearted.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for reading.<br \/>\nThanks for sharing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hoy no hay post feliz.
